  • Discover some of the most gorgeous nighttime critters, moths. We will be black lighting and sugar baiting to lure in these beautiful insects. This session will be different from the one held in June as different species are alive at the beginning and end of summer. This program is connected to the Pollinator Walks. The Moth Walks will look at the night time creatures that are attracted to the bait and the Pollinator Walks will look at the daytime pollinators that are attracted to the same bait.

  • Stop in at Stillwater Prairie Reserve and check out the storybook trail.  Take a leisurely walk along the trail where you can read the book “Fairy Houses.” Ask your local library about more nature books and the Storybook Trail.

  • Join Spirit of Thunder for a walk in the woods while listening to old legends and the serene sound of the Native American flute. Special guest will be the Stillwater Stargazers. Please park and meet at the main entrance. You can register at the event, but it recommended to pre-register, click the link above.

  • Drop by and learn all about rocks. Get a “Special Rock” and have Fun with Fossils. You can investigate real fossils of all different kinds. Fun and learning for all ages! A roving naturalist will be on-site to answer questions and facilitate activity. Meet at Waterfall. 

    Also going on is the Storybook Trail “Under One Rock” by Anthony Fredericks 1:00 to 3:00 at Charleston Falls. A Semi Precious Gem Stone Rock prize can be attained by Reading the Book, drawing a picture, and answering a couple of questions. We will have the book at the program! This book is part of the Storybook Trail - Quest Nature Book Program.  Ask your Local Library about more Nature Books and the Storybook Trail.
