Kay Hissong finds nature an amazing source of inspiration for her art. Her art is to honor the earth. She has worked in several different mediums which include oil, watercolor, fabric and pastel.
Kay earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Fine Arts and Psychology from Manchester College. She spent her junior year studying art in Mexico at the Instituto Allende, in San Miguel de Allende.
Kay was honored to be one of the artists who illustrated some of the books for the Miami County Park District's Habitat Heroes - Hug the Pollinators program.
The paintings on display represent an Artist in Residence that was completed to celebrate the beauty of the different seasons in the Miami County Parks. All of these works were created in plein air in different locations in a variety of the Miami County Parks. You can find Kay's work now through April 29 at Hayner Cultural Center in Troy.
A Donation from the sales of any paintings will be made to the Miami County parks.
