Stillwater has 309 acres with 5.69 miles of trails that go through varying ecosystems, making it a perfect place to hike or cross-county ski. Enjoy one of the two shelters with electricity and grill for your next picnic or sit at one of the benches to bird watch. Click on the link to view the brochure map for Stillwater Prairie. Stillwater Prairie Reserve is situated along the Scenic Stillwater River.  A circular hiking trail passes through fields, woodlands, marshy habitats and shrub lands.  Segments of the main trail follow along the river. Three man made ponds and the Stillwater River provide fishing opportunities for visitors.  Diverse topography and vegetation make this park a perfect place for hiking, picnicking, bird watching and cross-county skiing. A suspension bridge crossing the Scenic Stillwater River was completed in 2021 and connects the park to Maple Ridge.

A beautiful picnic shelter (Big Bluestem), built in 2006 made possible with funds received in memory of Connie L. Haines and a trust from Mary Francis Alspaugh, is located directly south of the upper parking lot.   An additional shelter (Dogwood) was constructed in 2021 as part of continuous park improvements. Both are equipped with a large grill and electricity. The shelters may be reserved by clicking here.
